it is a very special instrument in the sense that it had a ''story'' written in russian language on its left upper side which mentioned that the instrument was once a present from a ship team to their captain. the instrument has no brand, nor luthier specification... the only date available was the one written in russian which said 1896. the instrument is of dark reddish brown color. it was stolen from me in july 2008 in riga, latvia. i am willing to pay a $4,000 american dollars reward to who ever can point me to the actual location of where the instrument is... independently if i have to re buy it! here is a video of me playing with this instrument: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiknbajq464
