The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is widely regarded as one of the very best in the world, with a distinguished performance, recording, and touring history that few others can claim. Its home, Heinz Hall, is the cornerstone of the city’s Cultural District, an architectural and acoustical gem that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year for a diverse set of programs and events.

The PSO is known for its artistic excellence, is credited with a rich history of the world's finest conductors and musicians, and a strong commitment to the Pittsburgh region and its citizens. The Music Director, Manfred Honeck, and the PSO have received GRAMMY nominations for its recordings in five of the last six years, and, for three years in a row, Honeck and the PSO have received GRAMMY nominations for Best Orchestral Performance, taking home the award in 2018 for their recording of Shostakovich: Symphony No.5; Barber: Adagio.
