Sigismund Thalberg International Piano Competition

08 - 12 Jun, 2020

After twenty-two years from its birth, the Sigismund Thalberg International Piano Competition reaches its 12th edition.
It awards prizes for 10,000 euros and takes place at the Naples Music Conservatory San Pietro a Majella.
Directed by Francesco Nicolosi (Italy), the Jury is made up of well-known pianists such as Epifanio Comis (Italy), Violetta Egorova (Russia), Ilia Kim (South Corea) and Marco Pasini (Italy).
Over the years the Thalberg Prize has been awarded to young pianists of great value such as Michails Liftis, Third Prize in our 2004 edition and First Prize at the Busoni in 2009, and Sofia Gulyak, Thalberg Prize in 2006 and First Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2009.
We take the opportunity to thank the family Ferrara Pignatelli of Strongoli that with its support makes possible the implementation of this extraordinary event.
