Celebrate Asia Composition Competition
The Seattle Symphony’s Celebrate Asia Composition Competition seeks to recognize emerging composers who are interested in Asian culture, music and traditions. The winning composer will receive a $1,000 award and an opportunity to visit Seattle for the premiere. The winning score will be premiered by the Seattle Symphony in Benaroya Hall at the annual Celebrate Asia concert on February 11, 2018. All composers born after January 1, 1983 are eligible. There is no entry fee. All entries must arrive no later than October 27, 2017. Please see website for guidelines and submission information.

London Music Society 2017 International Composer's Competition
The competition is open to all nationalities with no age restriction. Interested candidates are required to present a work of maximum 12 min in duration for string orchestra. 1st Prize: The highest scoring work among the finalists shall be featured as the winning work in the Autumn 2017 performance by the London City Philharmonic. The 1st prize winner composition may also be included in a recording of works by contemporary composers by the London City Philharmonic. 2nd and 3rd Prize winners will be given a performance by the London City Philharmonic at a later date.

The Azrieli Foundation is searching for composers to receive two substantial prizes: • The Azrieli Commissions for Jewish Music - $50,000 CAD to a Canadian composer for a new orchestral work. Hallé Choir Christmas Carol Competition
The Hallé Choir is delighted to announce that its competition to write a new Christmas carol is now open. The winner will be the entrant whose composition, in the opinion of the judges, demonstrates originality and flair. The competition is open to UK residents born after 1st January 1987. ARBORETUM Krzysztof Penderecki Composers' Competition
ARBORETUM accepts works scored for a string orchestra, which are not performed nor published before the date of the final concert. Une des principales vocations du Festival Pablo Casals est de promouvoir de nouveaux talents, de faire vivre la musique et d’animer le monde de la création contemporaine. Depuis la création en 2005 du Concours International de Composition Pablo Casals, plus de 500 compositeurs du monde entier (Europe, Corée du Sud, Etats-Unis, Chine, Amérique du Sud…) ont proposé une œuvre inédite, écrite pour une formation du trio au sextuor. En hommage au Maître violoncelliste Pablo Casals, les membres du jury ont souhaité que le violoncelle soit instrument obligé.
