Dmitri Shostakovich Competition Composers & Forum 2017
Each composer must submit a music score choosen in the following instruments from 3 to 11 players: 1 piano, 1 flute (piccolo), 1 clarinet (bass clarinet), 1 bassoon, 1 french horn, 1 trumpet, 1 violin, 1 viola, 1 cello, 2 percussionists. The work must not exceed 10 minutes. The organization will select the composers who will have the opportunity to participate from 11 to 14 April 2017 in the city of Lviv (Ukraine), inside the Lviv Philhamonia. All concerts will be recorded by a sound engineer and a movie director will make a video.

Il Concorso è aperto a compositori di qualsiasi nazionalità senza limiti di età purché residenti in Italia. Alla fase Finale accederanno 5 composizioni che verranno eseguite in occasione del “Concerto della Passione” il 6 Aprile 2017 a Mottola (TA). In tale serata le stesse verranno giudicate da una Giuria tecnica di fama Nazionale presieduta dal M° Nicola Samale e verranno assegnati i seguenti premi in denaro: - 1° premio € 1000,00 - 2° premio € 600,00 - 3° premio € 400,00 - Premio del Pubblico di € 200,00 - €150,00 per ogni composizione finalista non premiata. International Competition "Debut at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg"
The competition is divided into five categories – Violin, Cello, Piano, Composition and Conducting. Our goal is to give young talented musicians the chance to have their debut in the legendary Laeiszhalle Hamburg, in collaboration with "KlassikPhilharmonie Hamburg" orchestra. This debut is supposed to draw the attention to the winner of the competition and to boost his or her musical career. The Laeiszhalle Hamburg is one of the most significant concert halls in the world. The jury members are the first-class musicians having a remarkable international career themsevles.

The Malta International Choir Festival Composition Competition
The Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority will be holding another edition of the Malta International Choir Festival (MICF) between 2 and 5 November, 2017. As part of the structural components of the festival the organising committee is pleased to launch the 2nd edition of the MICF Composition Competition that is dedicated to the memory of one of Malta`s preeminent composers Benigno Zerafa. The aim of this competition is to choose the best composition that will be performed and recorded during the Festival. The competition is open to composers of any nationality and age.

Musica per Archi Competition Composers & Forum 2017
Each composer must submit a score by choosing between two categories, which are the following: 1) string orchestra: 8 violins I, 6 violins II, 4 violas, 4 cellos, 3 contrabbasses. 2) flute (flute in C, flute in G, ottavino) and string orchestra. The work must not exceed 10 minutes. The organization will select the composers who will have the opportunity to participate from 25 to 28 February 2017 in the city of Lviv (Ukraine), inside the Lviv Philhamonia. All concerts will be recorded by a sound engineer and will be released a Cd containing the full concert with the works selected.

Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship
The Fondation des Etats-Unis is currently accepting applications for its annual Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship. Eligible candidates are graduate and post-graduate musicians (composition, instrumental or vocal performance) of exceptional talent who wish to pursue advanced artistic studies in Paris, France during the upcoming academic year. The scholarship is not intended for research in musicology. The deadline for all application materials is January 31st of the current academic year.
