55th Besancon International Competition for young Conductors
Established in 1951 by the Besançon International Music Festival, the Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors is open to any artist looking to become a professional conductor, no matter their career path, training or experience. After the preliminaries rounds, which will be held in various locations around the world, only 20 candidates will be entered into the orchestra rounds to be held in Besançon in September. Feis Ceoil Orchestral Conducting
Open to Irish nationals, or Irish residents of more than 2 years, conductors compete for a trophy and a Lunchtime Concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Age limit 18-35 years. International Competition "Debut at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg"
The competition is divided into five categories – Violin, Cello, Piano, Composition and Conducting. Our goal is to give young talented musicians the chance to have their debut in the legendary Laeiszhalle Hamburg, in collaboration with "KlassikPhilharmonie Hamburg" orchestra. This debut is supposed to draw the attention to the winner of the competition and to boost his or her musical career. The Laeiszhalle Hamburg is one of the most significant concert halls in the world. The jury members are the first-class musicians having a remarkable international career themsevles.

Blue Danube International Opera Conducting Competition 2017
7th Edition. Up to 60 conductors accepted without age limit to compete for prize engagements with professional opera companies from around Europe. 40 minutes of podium time with the company's orchestra, choir and soloists in Round I with Mozart's Die Entfuehrung aus dem Serail and Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens. Round II will test portions of Puccini's Madama Butterfly; Samson et Dalila, and Orpheus, a chamber opera written in 2015 by the Canadian composer, John Robertson. Round III will test Madama Butterfly. A number of Important opera directors attend for the final two rounds.
