Lake District Music - Emerging Artists Programme 2027

Applications are now open to string quartets for the 2027 Emerging Artists Programme, a career-changing opportunity for outstanding young ensembles. Two quartets will be selected to join the 2027 Summer Festival, taking part in performances, masterclasses with leading international artists, and receiving professional video recordings, entrepreneurial training, accommodation and a £1,200 contribution towards expenses.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on 20 November 2026. All musicians should be under the age of 30 years old on the application deadline, and quartets should have been working together for at least 6 months. Applications will be accepted from non-UK residents, however, all members of the ensemble must have studied, or currently study, at a UK university, conservatoire or institution. First-round video submissions are followed by live auditions in mid-December at venues in both London and Manchester.
