Blue Danube Opera Conducting Masterclass 2021 (II)
13 - 25 Sep, 2021
Probably the best training in opera conducting in the world. Three essential operas: Gaetano Donizetti's opera buffa, Don Pasquale; Giuseppe Verdi's enduring masterpiece, Otello; and Giacomo Puccini's heartbreakingly tragic, Madama Butterfly, all fully-staged and costumed and sung in Italian with State Opera Stara Zagara's (Bulgaria) orchestra, chorus & soloists. The Masterclass is under the direction of Maestro Dejan Savic, chief conductor and long-time opera and general director of the Belgrade National Opera Theatre (Serbia). The eleven conductors accepted may use their rehearsal and performance time on one, two or all three operas. Each opera receives a cast rehearsal with piano; orchestra rehearsals; chorus rehearsals with piano; Sitzproben (orchestra In the pit with cast and chorus seated on stage); a dress rehearsal and public performance. Daily and extensive private and group coaching. Rehearsals are taped for conductors' reference and later use for professional advancement.
