Lucerne Festival Academy

12 Aug - 09 Sep, 2022

The Lucerne Festival Academy is a school for new music and a laboratory for the future. Every summer, some 100 talented young musicians from all over the world are given the opportunity to concentrate on a repertoire that is still too much overlooked in the classical music business: the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In the summer of 2022, you will be joined by composer-inresidence
Thomas Adès to premiere his new violin concerto for
Anne-Sophie Mutter. You will meet with Tyshawn Sorey, the
summer’s “artiste étoile,” and work with him on a directed group
improvisation. Under Sylvain Cambreling, you will play a double
birthday concert for Wolfgang Rihm and Dieter Ammann, and
you will collaborate with the JACK Quartet to give a matinee
concert based on this year’s Festival theme, “Diversity.”
Closing date: 13 Feb 2022
