Decades of consistent development have seen what started in 1991 as a master class for string players attended by 13 students grow into the legendary summer campus of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and a project that is unparalleled worldwide.
With our 2023 theme of “We and Me”, this year’s international gathering will focus on the tension between the individual and the collective, between the personal and the communal.
In doing so, we’ll be taking a deeper look at music’s social components:
its unifying power, its enormous potential as a means of universal understanding, and its positive influence on every single one of us in terms of developing our personalities as well as our professional careers.
A team of internationally renowned tutors has been engaged to help unleash creative energies in the master classes, workshops and coaching sessions.
