The position
As a musician in our orchestra, in addition to your excellent artistic and technical level, you will maintain an open and hospitable attitude. We rehearse and perform new programmes each week. Moreover, you will be available for (educational and social) activities and performances in smaller settings. We ask our Principal and Co-Principal to lead the section and perform duties in their respective roles in an inspiring way, like actively taking part in (Principal) meetings, exchanging ideas with the orchestra management, taking care of an up to date substitute register, and taking place in (audition) commissions.
Requirements for the position
Needless to say, you must be a distinguished double bass player, and possess excellent skills as both an orchestral player as well as an ensemble player. We will expect you to always be well prepared on stage, and that your professional etiquette is of the highest standard.
For us it is essential that every colleague acts as an ambassador for our orchestra, and that they, in addition to collective stage activities, cooperate in social and educational activities as well as productions in ensemble settings. You need to be a positive and engaged team player who can strike the right balance between individuality and the collective.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold valid and unrestricted work and residence permits for the Netherlands if you are from a country outside the EU, your application will not be considered if you do not hold these documents. We will ask for a Certificate of Conduct [Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag (VOG)] at the time of making the appointment.
