Joseph Hornsteiner Cello c.1785 Mittenwald

FOR SALE: A rare Joseph Hornsteiner cello (c.1785) in superb condition. Only one other example has come up for sale in last ten years.

Recently set up with new bridge and sound post by Bridgewood & Neizert. I bought two years ago and have loved playing on it. It has a bright, powerful tone. Very vocal. I currently have it set up with Pirastro Eudoxa strings. But I have some Larsen strings and bridge if necessary.

Certification: Full documentation by Philip Brown Violins in Newbury. Record goes back to 1959 when it was sold by WE Hill to a student of William Pleeth. Pleeth personally chose this cello for his student.
