You are a professional or qualified musician, hoping to deploy your talent for ambitious musical projects
such as those by Le Concert impromptu.
You have a master’s degree from a European College of Music or Haute École de Musique and are in a
position to envisage a career playing chamber music with the quintet Le Concert impromptu.
Your creative flair, curious nature and drive make you the ideal candidate for playing, inventing, seeking
out new representations of art music today.

The wind quintet Le Concert impromptu was founded in 1991, and works under contract to the French
Ministry of Culture/DRAC Ile-de-France. We are based in Ivry-sur-Seine (just south-east of Paris-France).
We are a permanent ensemble, creating, performing and recording new works, including over 20 albums.
Art Director Violaine Dufès, oboist and dancer promotes mediation with audiences and draws on all art
forms to produce eclectic, innovative shows known as Cross-Operas.
Job description
The musician shall report to the board of the association Le Concert impromptu, the art director and
director. The candidate agrees to:
-participate in the creation of music and dance
-be available and give priority to performing in Le Concert impromptu concerts
-be available throughout the periods of creation and artistic research as required by the art director
-be part of the team and help the ensemble to develop independently
Conditions for admission
1) Shortlisting
Send an application by email: CV, Copy of diplomas, cover letter explaining your motivation, a video of
the applicant playing one solo movement and one chamber music movement (trio to septet).
2) In-person audition
- solo: play a piece by heart
- with the ensemble: play Anton Reicha‘s Quintet in E flat major Opus No. 88 and Summer Music by
Samuel Barber

All work with Le Concert impromptu counts towards your official status as a musician and “intermittent
du spectacle” in France, with all related benefits. Le Concert impromptu helps the applicant with
administrative procedures (visa, intermittent status, healthcare, etc.). Accommodation may be provided
during the trial period. Travel for auditions may be refunded.
