The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Institute of Jazz, invites applications for a full-time

University Professorship for Drums-Jazz

tentatively beginning with the winter semester 2021/2022.

The minimum monthly salary has been determined by the collective agreement and is at present 5,245.60 € gross (14 payments annually, overpayment possible).

The successful applicant will particularly teach the main artistic subject of Jazz Drums. Responsibilities will also include conducting for Jazz ensemble: We are looking for an artistic personality who has an overview over current international trends and is able to work across genres and to introduce creative and new ensemble concepts. In addition, the ideal candidate is prepared to represent and promote the field of Jazz in its entirety, in particular in the advancement and appreciation of the arts.

For teaching in the main artistic subject of the fields of study of Jazz and Music Education – Voice and Instruments Jazz we expect an outstanding artistic personality with the highest qualification, who has the ability to draft, plan and organise artistic projects. Candidates are expected to have outstanding pedagogical and didactic competency.
