Institute Programs Assistant

The Institute Programs Assistant provides essential administrative support for activities of the Negaunee Music Institute, the education and community engagement wing of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The person in this position also assists the Director of the Institute and serves as Secretary to the Institute Board.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. Bachelor’s degree and/or formal training in music preferred.
2. At least two years of experience working in an administrative role for a non-profit organization preferred.
3. Superior communication skills (written and verbal) required. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required.
4. Passion for symphony orchestras and belief that music education can transform lives.
5. Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends required.
6. Proven proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
