And Other Duties is a new conducting programme aimed at advanced students and emerging professionals. Each course will prepare you for the Other Duties you will encounter as an assistant, associate and guest conductor.
On this first intensive course, in collaboration with Chetham’s School of Music, one of the world’s finest specialist music schools, you will be coached and instructed by a team of highly experienced industry leaders. You will learn how to create and deliver education programmes with professional orchestras, how to manage and rehearse a top-class youth orchestra and what skills you need to be an excellent assistant.
8 conductors will each get over 150 mins of podium time spent with the 80-piece Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra, 100-strong chorus, and a professional chamber ensemble. Led by Timothy Redmond & Karen Ní Bhroin with experts from LSO, Hallé, Manchester Camerata and BBC Philharmonic, the course fee of £2100 is inclusive of all accommodation and meals.
