To carry out its missions, The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France has 3 First Concertmaster positions. The season’s productions are divided amongst the 3 First Concertmaster.

FIRST ELIMINATORY ROUND
− Mozart: 1st movement with cadenza of one of these concertos: No. 3, 4 or 5 (Edition Bärenreiter)
- Strauss: Don Juan (excerpt)

SECOND ELIMINATORY ROUND
− Choose one concerto in the list below (first and second movement with cadenza):
Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Sibelius, Tchaïkovski

− Bach: Choose one fugue in this list (Edition Bärenreiter):
- Sonata No. 1, in G minor, fugue
- Sonata No. 2, in A minor, fugue (until bar 166)
- Sonata No. 3, in C major, fugue (until bar 201)
− Ysaÿe : Sonata No.3 "ballade"
− Rimski-Korsakov : Shéhérazade, solos

FINAL WITH ORCHESTRA
- Beethoven: Symphony No.9 ; 3rd movement (excerpt)
- Brahms: Symphony No.1 ; 2nd movement (excerpt)
- Chostakovitch: Chamber symphony, in C minor, Op. 110a
- Mendelssohn: String octet, E-flat major, Op. 20; 1st movement

INFORMATION
The day of the audition, the jury will confirm the choice of the lines.
The pieces of music can be played or replayed in each test. The jury has the right to stop the candidate at any time, or ask him to play again.
