Section Violin I and II Substitute

Audition Date is ongoing, and based on candidate submission: These positions are substitute positions on an as-needed basis, and based on a successful substitute audition.
To audition, we ask that candidates submit an unlisted YouTube link with the following 2 excerpts:
1. Mendelssohn Midsummer Night's Dream Scherzo, Page 1
2. Brahms Symphony No. 4 Movement II, m. 30-39 and m. 88-101
along with the Audition Information Form and a one-page CV or performance resume. Submit to "artisticplanning@helenasymphony.org".
Following submission, the Music Director reviews the materials. If successful, the candidate is eligible to sub for two concerts with the Helena Symphony, and must then audition as a section player.

Substitute section players receive travel reimbursement, lodging, and per service fee. Please inquire at artisticplanning@helenasymphony.org with questions.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

The Helena Symphony Orchestra & Chorale led by Music Director Allan R. Scott has an annual concert season of 14-18 concerts, including 6 subscription concerts, 4 non-series concerts, 5 educational concerts, occasional runout or benefit performances, and potential outreach / school visits, totaling 55-65 services a season. The Helena Symphony Orchestra works under a master agreement, and there are 2-6 services in a concert series week.
