Sonila Dungaj was born in 22/11/1994 in Lezhe (Albania). In 2006 she begin her first lessons in Viola at the Artistic Lyceum “Jordan Misja” Tirana, with Prof. Elisabeta Uka Isak. In 2014-2019 she finished the BACHELOR/ MASTER studies for Viola in the Class of Prof. Arben Llozi. In 14 February 2017 played as SOLOIST with Symphonic Orchestra of UART, Double Concerto for Clarinet and Viola Op.88 of Max Bruch. She is the Winner in many Competitions like the:
-First Prize in the “Tirana Talent Competition” 2010
-Absolute First Prize at the International Competition “10 Minutes in Instrument Solo” Prishtina, Kosovo 2018, where she also won a 1850 Viola Instrument, Donated from the West Coast Symhony Orchestra (Canada)
-First Prize at “Tadini International Music Competition” in Bergamo, Italy 2018
-Absolute First Price at the “Pjeter Gaci Competition” in the Strings Section Shkoder, Albania 2018
-In 2015 and 2016 she has participated in the “Mediterrenean Youth Orchestra” (Aix en Provence, France).
-In 2017 she has participated in the Radio Swedish Symphony Orchestra (Stockholm, Sweden).
Participant in the MasterClass with Famous Violists like : Alphonso Ghedini, Simon Rowland Jones, Simone Bracone, Arjan Paço, Simone Gramaglia, Fiermann Leimer, Adrien Boissseau and in 17-31 August 2018 at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy with Prof. Bruno Giuranna. She has participated in various activities such as Soloists, Chamber Music, Philharmonic Orchestra of Tirana, Albanian Youth Orchestra, Opera and Ballet Orchestra of Albania, Albanian RadioTelevision Symphony Orchestra, Etc. Participant at the Festival “Nei Suoni Dei Luoghi” in Udine, Italy as Violist of “ClavioTrio”.
Currently Attending the Professional Course for Viola at the Academy “Walter Stauffer” Cremona with Maestro Bruno Giuranna.
