Ehsan Tavakkol studied in the composition class of People's artist of Ukraine, Professor V. Ptushkin at I.P. Kotliarevskyi Kharkiv National University of Arts. During his studies, Ehsan perfectly passes all subjects and active participated in the university life. He brilliantly graduated from the University; he was the only one foreign student who had a diploma with Honors. In 2015, he was enrolled as a post-graduate student at the Department of Interpretation and Analysis of Music of the I.P. Kotliarevskyi Kharkiv National University of Arts.
The desire for professional development is confirmed by his numerous performances in public concerts, participation in master classes, participation in composer festivals in Iran and Ukraine: XVIII International Music Festival "Visiting Ayvazovsky" (Theodosia city, 2011); International Composers and Performers Music Festival "Days of New Music" (Kharkiv, 2012), International Music Festival "Kharkiv Assembly", in the international project "Golha", founded by the British Library (2014, London), which recorded more than 500 songs. He also won II place in the IV International Music Contest of Young Composers named after Ivan Karabits (Kyiv, 2014). He also has the publication of the scientific article "Genre-style features of the Concert by R. Vali with orchestra in its communications with traditional Iranian music" in the collection of scientific articles of Magisters of I.P. Kotlyarevsky University of Arts "Scientific Assemblies" (May 2015).
An important feature of his creative style is the composing synthesis of folklore and modern techniques. The most striking Tavakkol’s works are: Quartet, Quintet, "The Recitative and Toccata" for string orchestra, Burlesque for clarinet and piano, Passacaglia and Fugue for piano, Symphony, Rhapsody for violin solo and orchestra. These works were performed in concerts held in the Great Hall of the I.P. Kotlyarevsky University of Arts. In the framework of the International Music Festival, "Kharkiv Assemblies" were performed: "The Recitative and Toccata" for string orchestra (2012), Quintet (2013) and Transcription of Sonata No. 18 by L. Beethoven for the quartet (2014).
Moreover, the author made many Iranian Radifs Transcriptions for piano. E. Tavakkol orchestrated 20 Iranian folk songs, Sonatas K380, K159 and K466 by D. Scarlatti, prelude and fugue f-moll by I. S. Bach (from well-tempered clavier, book 2), Sonata No. 18 by L. Beethoven, Sonatina by D. Shostakovich.
He appeared on Ukraine stages as an ensemble singer and performer on Iranian folk national instruments. He played high-level performances on a solo instrument (Sitar) the works of Iranian folk music at the 5th Traditional Folk Culture International Festival "Pokut" (Kharkiv, 2010) and his own jazz song entitled "Song" as well at Kharkiv Nationa Opera Theatre, 2014.
During the last four years, Ehsan has sung in the folk group "Stegka". The various concert performances of the youth folk band "Stegka" were presented at various artistic events taking place in Kharkiv and other Ukrainian cities (concerts, festivals, presentations, performances on television, etc.). He also creatives cooperation with others folk groups and artistic unions as well. The band "Stegka" became the winner of the Ukrainian festival of the modern song "Chervona Ruta" (Kyiv, 2013)
