Bio

Israeli Violist Netanel Pollak started his music studies in the Jerusalem Academy of Music Conservatory. In 2014 he graduated from the Jerusalem Academy, and in 2016 from the Masters program at the Juilliard School, where he studied with Heidi Castleman and Cynthia Roberts.
As an early music performer, Mr. Pollak has been principal violist for the European Union Baroque Orchestra, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Ensemble Phoenix, In Mixto Genere Ensemble (Israel) and Juilliard 415 ensemble, where he played with William Christie, Jordi Savall, Jane Glover, Monica Huggett, Masaaki Suzuki, Richard Egarr, Nicholas McGegan and Rachel Podger. He is a member of many festivals around the world such as the Perlman Music Program, Heifetz Institute, The Academy of Sacred Drama (USA), Tafelmusik Baroque Institute (Canada), Musique a Flaine (France), and Aurora (Sweden). From 2009-2012, he served in the Israeli Defense Forces under the status of an “Outstanding Musician”.
Mr. Pollak is a scholarship recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 2007. He is playing on a 1801 Lupot viola, loaned to him by Mr. Yehuda Zisapel, and on a Baroque viola from Dr. Myrna Herzog's collection.
