Multiple Part-time Teaching and Administrative Positions

In our 20th year, Kawartha Youth Orchestra is a community music and orchestra-training organization serving elementary through post-secondary-aged youth. Our students come from numerous communities in the Kawartha Region of Central Ontario with our rehearsal space in Peterborough, Ontario. Each year we enroll students who want to be challenged beyond their school music experience. Our conductors and faculty are accomplished musicians with extensive backgrounds in performance and music education. As a registered non-profit, charitable organization, KYO values its partnership with local school music programs, private teachers, and other community performance organizations, who share in the development of our student musicians.

KYO operates two program streams:

The Orchestras, a fee-based, tiered orchestra-training program for instrumentalists aged 8-28 years. The Orchestras consist of the Junior (JKYO), Intermediate (IKYO) and Senior (SKYO) Orchestras.

UPBEAT! Downtown, a subsidized after-school music education program for Peterborough children who face barriers.

• IKYO Upper Strings Coach
• IKYO Lower Strings Coach
• IKYO Brass Coach
• JKYO Violin Instructor
• JKYO Lower Brass Instructor
• Percussion Ensemble Conductor
