Composition Competition 2021

Classic Pure Vienna is a competition organization based in Vienna, which aims to support new composers of our time worldwide.

    Eligibility
  • The competition is open to composers of all ages and nationalities. Works that have not won any competitions in the past may be submitted.

    Regulation
  • The competition is open to composers of all ages and nationalities.

  • Unpublished works and works that have not won any competitions in the past may be submitted.

  • Participants may submit as many compositions as they want.

  • The works may be for chamber ensemble (duo, trio, quartet, quintet, etc.) or orchestra.

  • Electronics may also be used.

  • A recording of the composition must be included.

  • The recording may be either an mp3 file or a video link.

  • All pdf scores must be sent anonymously and only a pseudonym may be written on the score.

  • The composition may have one or more movements.

  • Works must be no shorter than 3 minutes in duration. Longer works may be submitted.

  • The winners will be invited to the award ceremony in MOZARTHAUS VIENNA, which Classic Pure Vienna will organize on October 10, 2021.

  • If the pandemic doesn't end, there will be no awards ceremony due to corona restrictions. The jury committee will evaluate the compositions and the winners will be published online.

  • If more than one applicant gets the same points, the award may be divided among those participants.

   Judging
  • A jury assembled by Classic Pure Vienna will judge the scores. The Jury’s decisions cannot be appealed.

  • By agreeing to take part in the competition, all competitors undertake to accept and not contest these decisions. The jury is not required to provide personal feedback and comments on participating compositions.

  • If the participants receive the same number of points from the juries, they receive the prize together and this rule is considered accepted.

  • Jury members are  Martin Kerschbaum, Farkhad Khudyev, Sheng Li, Mirza Kapetanovic, Chikara Shiojima, Cagri Beklen, Eldar Hudiev.

    Prizes
     
  • 1st Prize: 1.000, - Euro & certificate

  • 2nd Prize:   500, - Euro & certificate

  • 3rd Prize:    250, - Euro & certificate

    Registration fee
  • There is an entry fee of 30, - Euros for each composition.

  • It is possible to participate with more than one composition under one name, in that case, an entry fee of 30, - Euros must be paid for each composition.
