CHERUBIM CELLO COMPETITION

We invite entries for a competition to decide the loan of two valuable
mid-19thC cellos.

Both are mature instruments with powerful tone suitable for soloists.

The loan is offered for five years, with an annual charge of £600pa, including insurance.

Cherubim seeks to work collaboratively with awardees of its instruments, and may occasionally ask awardees to play in concerts which are sometimes recorded for YouTube. 

Cherubim asks it awardees to agree to the use of their pictures and biographical details on our website and elsewhere.

T&C 

Entrants must be first study cellists aged 15-25, at (or intending to study at) a music college or university based within 200 miles of London.

Candidates should submit a video or audio or send URL of performance/s of 1-3 pieces of up to 20’ in total. Any combination of instruments is acceptable, as is improvisation. 

Please ensure that each piece is clearly identified in the file title with its title and composer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a live audition on the cello of their choice in London in mid-January.

Entries by 31 Dec 2021. Entry fee £15.
