Welcome to the Premier Orchestral Institute (POI) International Composition Competition!
Our mission is to provide all POI participants with an intensive, exciting and inspiring program that will generate artistic growth and cultural enrichment for all involved. POI is a life-changing experience with an impact beyond the musical realm. With three orchestras ranging in level from professional to beginner, POI is an intensive international Summer institute for musicians of all levels. So far more than 10 countries have been represented at POI on three continents.Summer 2024 brings the second edition of the POI International Composition Competition. Its objective is to open more opportunities for composers of all ages to premiere their works and to offer a wider range of music to the Faculty/college students chamber orchestra during the Premier Orchestral Institute.
This competition is open to all nationalities and is seeking to motivate all composers to include folk music elements in their compositions from their countries, as a way to help preserve their cultural heritage.
