59th International Violin Competition "Premio Paganini"

Applications are now open for the 59th Premio Paganini, to be held in Genoa from 11 to 24 October 2027. Young violinists worldwide may apply between 1 Sep and 1 Dec 2026 according to the competition regulations.
The new edition further strengthens the competition’s international profile. Ning Feng, winner of the Premio Paganini in 2006, will be the youngest Jury President in the competition’s history and the first from Asia. He will be joined by distinguished jurors Ju-Young Baek, Mauro Bucarelli, Francesca Dego, Ida Kavafian, Roman Simović and Akiko Suwanai.
The selection process includes a video preselection and live auditions in Tokyo, Shanghai, Berlin, Genoa and New York during April and May 2027. The repertoire combines tradition and innovation, with a strong focus on chamber music and contemporary works, including a new piece for violin and live electronics by Italian composer Matteo Franceschini.
