Principal harp (50%)

The position
As our principal harpist you are a team player as well as a soloist. You will play a key role within the ensemble providing structure and colour to the orchestra. Because this is a principal position (albeit without a section as such), you will also give vital artistic input to the management and play a role on audition and trial panels. As well as playing in the orchestra, you will also be participating in educational and outreach activities and smaller-scale stage presentations.
Requirements for the position
It goes without saying that you are a distinguished harpist and that you also have an affinity for and interest in contemporary music. You will find it enjoyable and important to cooperate in educational and ensemble projects alongside your podium activities. You will be a positive an engaged team player with attributes of openness and flexibility.

The auditions for this position will be held on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 November 2021. Obligatory works:
- C.P.E. BACH : Solo for harp in G, Wq 139 H563, movement II, Allegro (own choice of edition);
- P. HINDEMITH: Sonata for Harp, movement I, Mässig schnell;
- G. FAURE: Impromptu, Opus 86;
- orchestral parts yet to be determined.
