Seattle Symphony
Production Manager
Position Overview:
The Production Manager is primarily responsible for managing the Symphony’s production activities related to the Symphony’s live concerts and presentations. In addition, this position will assist with other Symphony production areas on an occasional basis.
Qualifications:
• BA in Music or Arts Administration or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in arts administration, preferably with orchestras
• Self-motivated, well organized, detail orientated, and able to meet deadlines on a timely basis
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact effectively with music director, guest artists, orchestra musicians, librarians, personnel managers, staff, stage crew, and volunteers
• Computer proficient (MS Office, database management, word processing, etc.) experience with ArtsVision preferred
• In depth knowledge and love of classical music and ability to read music/orchestral scores
• Performs extensive concert duty-including evenings and weekends
• Available to travel regionally, nationally and internationally as required for touring activities
Essential Job Functions:
• Create and disseminates Concert Information, Event Service Orders, stage diagrams, and other production related documents
• Oversees orchestra side of orchestra management software, ArtsVision, and acts as System Administrator, which includes training incoming staff. Builds projects and events in ArtsVision for current and future seasons and assists with additional data entry as needed
• Assists Senior Director of Operations with production logistics advancement work
• Perform significant operations concert duty, which includes concert and event oversight for all SSO performances
• Provide logistical tour/residency support
• Participate in collective bargaining as needed
• Provide support to VP & General Manager and Senior Director of Operations as needed
