Luca Pieruccioni. I was born in Pietrasanta (LU) in 1972.
In 1994 I got a first-class degree at Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Giacomo Puccini” in La Spezia under Maestro Franco Parenti’s guidance. Later, I went on studying piano and the technical-expressive aspects in detail attending the high specialization courses given by Maestro Isacco Rinaldi, Maestro Hector Moreno and Maestro Bruno Canino. I studied the conduction of orchestra attending the course of Qualificazione Professionale given by Maestro Piero Bellugi in Florence. In the year 2001 I attended a course for members of orchestra which went on for eight months, organized by the Banchetto Musicale of Capannori (LU) and financed by the European Social Fund. This course included the study – together with the orchestra – of the concert for piano and wind instruments by Stravinski, the Kammerkonzert by A.Berg, the Carnevale degli Animali by C. Saint-Saens and the double concert for two pianos by W. A. Mozart.
I received several awards for International and National Contests, winning the second prize at the Piano Contest “Città di Camaiore”, the first prize at the Piano Contest “Città di Genova”, the first prize at the Contest “Riviera della Versilia” (LU), the second prize – the first one was not awarded – at the Contest “Città di Gabicce Mare” (PS), the third prize at the International Contest “Città di Tortona” (AL).
I carry out my concert activity as a soloist, chamber music and four-hand piano and eight-hand on two pianos.
Since 2004 I have been a member of “Miari Ensemble”: this group has the aim to propose well-known – but also unknown – music for the unusual cast of two pianos and eight hands.
I played for the Società dei concerti in La Spezia, at the Theatre the “Tempietto” in Genova, in Desenzano del Garda (BS) in the Auditorium “A. Celesti”, at the Rotare Club in Piombino (LI), in Viareggio at the Exhibition “Giovani Concertisti”, in Lucca at the Museo della Cattedrale, for the Società Filarmonica Pisana, in Busto Arsizio (VA) for the Amici della Musica, in the Haus der Begegnung in Grenzach-Whylen (Germany), Juilliard School di New York, in Rome at Villa Torlonia and at Teatro Marcello, at the Palazzo Ducale in Massa, for the Associazione Concertistica “Pina Telara” in Massa,Pescara Music Festival, Festival Internazionale di Musica Classica di Corsanico 2010, Associazione Musicale "Dino Ciani" di Milano, Lucca for Amnesty International, at the Teatro in Rosignano Solvay (LI) where I played the harpsichord in the performance of the Opera “La Serva Padrona” by G. B. Pergolesi and the piano in the Opera “Il Piccolo Spazzacamino” by B. Britten.
I recorded for RAI (Italian Radio and Television).
I worked as a piano collaborator at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca for the staging of several operas conducted by the Maestro Alberto Zedda or other important conductors.
Since September 2000 I have been permanent director of the Schola Cantorum of St. Martino’s Cathedral in Pietrasanta (LU) which is composed of about fifty chorus singers divided into sopranos, contraltos, tenors and basses. We performed numerous concerts in Italy and abroad with a repertoire which ranges from the Baroque music to the contemporary one, with instrumental accompaniment and various soloists.
I taught piano at the Scuola Civica di Capannori (LU) and at the Scuola di Musica “Sinfonia” in Lucca.
At present, I am teaching piano at the Scuola di Musica “Diafonia” in Pietrasanta (LU).
I delivered several lectures and concert lessons on F. Chopin’s piano music and on the various aspects of the musical interpretation, with a particular attention for the piano music.
I also gave some lectures on L. V. Beethoven’s Nine Symphonies and G. Verdi’s Requiem.
I am a regular teacher of Musical Education in the Public Middle Schools.
