The event includes an opening presentation with the IHCA's adjudicators and Board of Directors, clinics taught by adjudicators, rehearsals with collaborative pianists, a first round, semi-final round, final round of the competition, and an awards ceremony. Vitally, it also includes an opportunity for non-finalists to receive direct feedback from adjudicators on their performances.&#13;
&#13;
Each competition takes place at a different location in the United States. IHCA 2026 will be held in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at Southeast Missouri State University.&#13;

OverviewApplications are invited from musicians who currently have a minimum playing standard of ABRSM Grade 7, or equivalent, and who are interested in the challenging and varied musical life that a career in the Defence Forces School of Music offers.&#13;
Military Instrumentalists are full-time musicians whose primary role is to service the musical requirements of state and military ceremonial events. Defence Forces military bands also perform an immensely varied repertoire of music at concerts and community events throughout Ireland and abroad.&#13;
Candidates must be 18 years of age and less than 39 years of age on the closing date for receipt of applications, which for this competition is 21 June 2026. Candidates must also be eligible to workand reside in Ireland.&#13;

Job Description&#13;
The West Point Band is a U.S. Army premier band whose main duty is to perform for local, national, and international audiences in support of the West Point community, the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Army.&#13;
‍&#13;
Play Assistant/Third Horn with the West Point Band’s concert band; play Principal as needed.&#13;
Perform in the marching band (on the job training provided).&#13;
Play with chamber ensembles that range in musical genre.&#13;
Secondary duties related to the day-to-day functioning of the West Point Band will be assigned based on experience, knowledge, interest, and/or needs of the unit.&#13;

(Conductors are vetted directly through our New York Conducting Workshop &amp; Respighi Competition.) &#13;
