Each participant in the master class is expected to participate in at least 75 minutes of rehearsals per day and to actively perform in the final concert.&#13;

Drawing inspiration from the orchestral and opera work of Opera North, the Youth Orchestra prepares and performs two programmes of challenging repertoire each academic year. Rehearsing in the Orchestra of Opera North rehearsal studios, ONYO provides opportunities to learn the musical and non-musical intricacies of working within a high-level orchestra whilst gaining further experience with orchestral and operatic repertoire.&#13;

10th year of the Professione Orchestra, the programme designed to train young musicians to work as professional members of an orchestra, developed through a partnership between the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale of the RAI national broadcasting network, and the Fondazione Accademia di Musica, a school for advanced music teaching.&#13;

- 4 individual instrument lessons with Professors of Rai Orchestra.&#13;
- Rehearsal with the instrument section with Professors of Rai Orchestra.&#13;
- Seminary Alexander’s Technique and Anxiety.&#13;

This year, the orchestra will be placed under the direction of the very talented David Fernández Caravaca, one of the most promising emerging conductors of his generation. The selected musicians will be part of an intensive rehearsal programme that presents an exciting opportunity for collaboration and artistic growth in a multicultural environment. You will receive the music sheet one month before the sessions, therefore all musicians are expected to arrive prepared. Parallel to the competition, the Polstjärnepriset course is being held, which is open to musicians aged 14-20 from the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe.&#13;
&#13;
Polstjärnepriset is divided into two periods. From 28 October to 1 November 2026, everyone will meet to prepare for the competition, have lessons, and play together in various chamber music groups and orchestras. Right at the start of January, the competition itself takes place, with the final alongside the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra at the Gothenburg Concert Hall on 5 January. Polstjärnepriset ends with a final concert on 6 January.&#13;

No participation fees, but you pay accommodation and travels yourself.&#13;
