Mission&#13;
•	You support the Artistic Production &amp; Orchestra Operations Division by ensuring an optimal welcoming environment for visiting artists, ensembles and orchestras.&#13;
•	You organise backstage services according to contracts and technical riders, including catering and general artist facilities.&#13;
•	You ensure that all backstage areas are fully equipped, functional and welcoming at all times.&#13;
•	You are present during rehearsals and/or concerts as required by the division.&#13;
•	You handle orders, errands and supplier relations, including occasional travel within Luxembourg.&#13;
•	You operate Philharmonie vehicles when needed.&#13;
&#13;
Profile&#13;
•	Experience in backstage work, hospitality or event production is an advantage.&#13;
•	Strong organisational skills, reliability and a professional, service-oriented attitude.&#13;
•	Ability to work both independently and within a team.&#13;
•	Fluency in at least two of the following languages: German, French, English.&#13;
•	Valid category B driving licence.&#13;

Under the direction of the Sr Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Orchestra Personnel is the main liaison between USUO administrative staff, Music Director, and orchestra members.  The Director is responsible for engaging with and maintaining a collaborative culture while tactfully and expertly guiding Utah Symphony | Utah Opera’s (USUO) execution of its Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).  The ideal Director will help strategize and assist musicians and USUO staff in developing a collaborative and mutually beneficial employee workforce ready to “Connect the community through great live music.”  Key to that work is maintaining a positive, responsible, communicative, and collaborative environment. This individual serves as an entrusted and knowledgeable resource and counsel for orchestra musicians, supports the day-to-day personnel activities of USUO, and acts as main coordinator of orchestra auditions.  We expect this individual to oversee and elevate the role of the Orchestra Personnel Manager through respectful delegation as the Director balances their own workload of case management, payroll, and other organizational needs.&#13;

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:&#13;

Working closely with the Director of Artistic Operations and Music Director, this position is responsible for hiring and coordinating tenured members and substitute/extra musicians for each ASO performance, as well as implementing the organization’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with its musicians. This position interacts with the Orchestra Committee.&#13;
&#13;
The tasks associated with this position include, but are not limited to, the following:&#13;
•	Issue annual musician contracts in accordance with the CBA for all performances – this responsibility would commence with the 2026-27 season&#13;
•	Develop and maintain the substitute/extra musician list in consultation with the Music Director and orchestra principals.&#13;
•	Ensure all needed musicians are hired including substitutes, extra and appointed musicians as needed. &#13;
•	Attend all services of the ASO to record attendance, start/stop services and breaks, make appropriate announcements, handle questions/inquiries and ensure CBA is being followed.&#13;
•	Submit all musician payroll paperwork to the Director of Artistic Operations following each set of services.&#13;
•	Notify the Orchestra Librarian &amp; Assistant Librarian of the orchestra roster for each concert, including part designation and seating order for strings.&#13;
•	In compliance with the CBA, and under the supervision of the Director of Artistic Operations, implement all aspects of orchestra auditions for open positions and to augment the substitute/extra list.&#13;
•	Using the organization’s OPAS database, maintain a current database of tenured, tenure-track, appointed, and substitute/extra musician information and assign and track personnel attendance and payroll information.&#13;
•	Communicate with the orchestra members on behalf of the ASA&#13;
