Targeted at violinists, the scheme provides experience in chamber orchestral playing for those developing a portfolio chamber career.
“I can honestly say that being an Associate Fellow of ASMF has been one of the highlights of my musical journey to date. Arriving into my first rehearsal with them back in February, I very quickly realised that this is not just an orchestra, but a family. They are so warm and welcoming, and are the perfect example of a player-led ensemble. They take such pride in their work, and there is a sense that everyone feels an equal responsibility for the music.”
Associate Fellowship Scheme
The Associate Fellowship Scheme is designed to give players who are establishing their professional career a paid opportunity to rehearse and perform with ASMF, and receive bespoke coaching and mentorship from its players.
The scheme offers two violinists the opportunity to participate in a programme across our upcoming season (November 2026 – June 2027).
Those who participate in the programme will receive the following:

opportunity to rehearse and perform with ASMF on 2 x projects, with performances at St-Martin-in-the-Fields
opportunity to create, rehearse, and perform in a chamber performance for presentation
opportunity to sit-in the orchestra during rehearsals with ASMF's Music Director Joshua Bell
opportunities for 1-1 mentoring and coaching from ASMF players

Who the scheme is for
We understand that people at all stages of their careers are keen to get experience of orchestral playing. The ASMF offer is distinctive in its chamber focus, providing opportunities for coaching and mentoring from our players in small and orchestral-sized forces. The scheme is ideal for people who want to gain support and experience to help develop their portfolio chamber career.

A fine violin made by John Kennedy, uncle of the famous maker Thomas Kennedy in the 1790's. It is labelled with hand written label John Kennedy, Bolton Street London, 1790 or 1794. Cant be precise due to the handwriting style. This was originally a Baroque violin and was mordeinised with a neck graft somwehre in its life. Also has marks on the varnish from a players beard before the chinrest was introduced. Based on a Steiner model and has beautiful arching on the belly. A one piece back of highly flamed maple. A bright tone, and would benefit from a new set up and some TLC. i have a written appraisal from Bridgewood and Neitzhert available on request stating its valuation in 2017 and a breakdown of work needed with estimated valuation. In the written appraisal it is stated, if the work is carried out the violin would have a value in the region of 8k to 9k, if in perfect condition up to 15k. Brought in 1998 during my studies. Around 1710, Josephus Joachimus Edlinger — a young Prague luthier, son of Thomas Edlinger, a student of Jakob Stainer — ended his study travels in Naples, apprenticing in the celebrated Gagliani workshop. After Alessandro Gagliani's death in 1729, he brought two violins back to Prague; after his own death in 1748, they were bequeathed to the church, as documented in his will. Only one survives.
The violin is in excellent condition, with past repairs skillfully executed. It bears all hallmarks of the Neapolitan school and Gagliani's craftsmanship: golden-orange varnish and characteristic scroll carving. Its tone is typically Italian — warm, brilliant, expressive and pure. The label reads "Josephus Joachimus Edlinger, Naples, anno fecit 1736." Certified in London; further documents, recordings and expert statements available. Includes a lockable hard case, bow and shoulder rest once owned by Yehudi Menuhin.

Violin alemán o italiano siglo XIX.

Muy buen violin que posee un sonido precioso y potente.Es muy fácil de tocar y tiene respuesta muy rápida.
