Price: €5300

A rare late 18th century classical bassoon from Simiot a Lyon c. 1790
with 7 Brass Keys and plays well in 430hz with a beautiful French sound.
All parts are stamped, it's in good condition for the age, no cracks visible.
There is no bocal, I would recommend one from V. Onida Milano after the B&K original .
Simiot invented, among other things, the metal bow in the boot, this bassoon is still without!
Simiot is in the great French woodwind makers tradition of Bizey, Prudent, Porthoux, Savary.
You can see it at the tuning of the bell.
18th century playable bassoons are rare, early 19th century French bassoons are more common.
More photos on request.
Viewing and testing can be arranged in London or Berlin.
