Price: £5000

Philip Walters 1996, English make, from the Newark School of Luthiers. It has a 16inch body and a beautifully rich tone that is produced effortlessly. It is modelled on the Guarneri shape which features wonderful curves on the belly and back of the instrument, which I believe contribute to it's resonance.

The varnish is beautifully done with an ageing effect, giving the instrument a sense of history, despite being only 23 y/old. I bought it from Philip Walters directly in Nailsworth in 1996. After having picked up a couple of other instruments I immediately fell in love with the sound of this viola, so it is with great reluctance that I'm selling it.

I had it valued at Bridgewood and Neitzert in 2007 for £4000. It is probably worth almost twice that now, but I'm willing to sell it for £5000
Certification: I haven't managed to find the documentation I used to have, but valuation can be arranged if required.
