Heckel 7864

Price: US
Truly one-of-a-kind Heckel, produced for Thom de Klerk, First Solo Bassoonist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1935-1966. After de Klerk's passing, it was acquired by a family friend/colleague, who, to honor de Klerk, had a series of plaques with their two names on it placed on each joint. Only one remained when I acquired the instrument, and I had Keith Bowen place it on the bell joint. Completely overhauled and refinished, wood and metal, (by Keith Bowen), and has been stored for a number of years, taken out and played only for a couple of weeks each year. Silver Tone Hole inserts placed by Jim Keyes in 2016. This is such a sweet sounding and comfortable Heckel to play. True Master Series Heckel sound. Eager to sell!
The instrument was recently play tested by a colleague, Tom Greaves, Associate/Principal of the Barcelona Symphony. He can be reached for comment at WhatsApp: +34 617 473 092 or:
