LAB-Arts Workshop in Music/Dance/Architecture
LAB-Arts (International Laboratory for Collaborative Arts) invites you to apply to a new collaborative workshop in music and dance, taking place in downtown Chicago in August 2016. Centered on site-specific performances, the workshop will mix choreographers, dancers, composers, conductors, and musicians (instrumentalists and vocalists), to create new pieces inspired by Chicago’s vibrant architecture. Participants of the workshop will work alongside experienced master artist-teachers, including some of Chicago’s best contemporary dancers, choreographers, and musicians.

Play On is an inspiring and challenging international summer school presented by internationally respected musicians, for talented young strings, woodwind and brass players. Conducted by RCS Head of Strings David Watkin, this course will give young musicians the opportunity to learn from guest soloist Nicola Benedetti who will lead students through the Elgar Violin Concerto. Virtuoso horn player Frank Lloyd is the guest artist in brass and the charismatic Maximiliano Martín will work with woodwind students.

Brass @ Sibelius Academy
This is a new international education and concert event for brass instruments. The teachers and artists for the event include brass instrument teachers from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki and a group of other internationally acclaimed brass instrumentalists (for example Pip Eastop, Christian Lindberg, Ricardo Casero and the Stockholm Chamber Brass). The Gustav Academy offers master classes with internationally renowned Teachers and professional musicians from Mahler Chamber Orchestra and English Baroque soloists. The master classes are open for high qualified European musicians.Musicians who want to apply the Gustav Mahler Academy 2016 must be born between July 16, 1988 and July 15, 1998. The courses are free of charge and participants will be given accomodation in a Comfort Hotel in Twin/Triple Room in the city center at the expense of the Gustav Mahler Foundation.
