It is our great pleasure to inform that on December 9 - 13, 2015 the Chair of String Instruments of the Academy of Music in Lodz is organizing the 1st International Violin Competition which will be named after Grazyna Bacewicz, the eminent Polish composer and violinist. In order to make this magnificent artist's output subject of interest for the greatest possible number of violinists from all over the world, we have decided not to introduce any age limit for participants of the Competition.

ItalySanguinetto/Verona International Prize for Music "Gaetano Zinetti"
The International Prize of Music "Gaetano Zinetti” was born in 1996 to the memory of illustrious musician and conductor Gaetano Zinetti, who lived in Sanguinetto at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. The main objective is to promote deserving musical talents and helping them to success in the concert world. The Competition in its form is open to Soloists and Ensemble (2 to 50 elements) of any age and nationality; all styles and musical language are accepted, including transcriptions. All stages of the competition are open to the public, making the event a great Festival.

First round with piano and finals with orchestra in Ponteareas (Spain) from 10th to 13th August 2015. First prize will be awarded with 2000 euros and a solo concerto with Orquestra de Camara Galega in Festival Groba 2016. Other prizes and concert engagements info in the web. PolandTorun IV International Violin Competition - Torun 2016
It is our great pleasure to announce that Torun Symphony Orchestra will be hosting the IV International Violin Competition – Torun 2016 in 19-28 February 2016 in Torun, Poland. The Competition is being held triennially since 2007 and to date, the prize winners are very active and successful. The Jury will consist of outstanding violinists and professors from Poland and abroad. Konstanty Andrzej Kulka will be the Chairman of the Jury. First Prize – 12 000 EUR and the Copernicus’ Astrolabe, Second Prize – 8 000 EUR, Third Prize – 5 000 EUR and 3 distinctions of 1000 EUR each.

International chamber music competition open to groups ranging from duo to sextet. The group members’ average age must be less than 35 years old on the date of 1st June 2015. Free repertoire including at least two compositions of contrasting style and period. First Prize:10,000 euros, a 10 concert tour (including a "New York Recital Debut") and a recording contract. The Competition Festival is hosted at the best Venetian Villas. The Competition is co-promoted by the Conservatories of Verona and Mantua and by the University of Verona.
