The International violin competition “Vasco Abadjiev” – Sofia is held each 2 years and is organized by Club UNESCO “Leonardo Da Vinchi”, with the support of Ministry of Culture, and main purpose is retaining the name and heritage of Vasco Abadjiev in the global historical and cultural landscape. For contest participation, violinists from all countries and nationalities, that to the date of opening of the contest are not older than 30 years, or born before 30.12.1985 can apply. They all have to meet the conditions of the regulations.

It is our great pleasure to inform that on December 9 - 13, 2015 the Chair of String Instruments of the Academy of Music in Lodz is organizing the 1st International Violin Competition which will be named after Grazyna Bacewicz, the eminent Polish composer and violinist. In order to make this magnificent artist's output subject of interest for the greatest possible number of violinists from all over the world, we have decided not to introduce any age limit for participants of the Competition.

PolandTorun IV International Violin Competition - Torun 2016
It is our great pleasure to announce that Torun Symphony Orchestra will be hosting the IV International Violin Competition – Torun 2016 in 19-28 February 2016 in Torun, Poland. The Competition is being held triennially since 2007 and to date, the prize winners are very active and successful. The Jury will consist of outstanding violinists and professors from Poland and abroad. Konstanty Andrzej Kulka will be the Chairman of the Jury. First Prize – 12 000 EUR and the Copernicus’ Astrolabe, Second Prize – 8 000 EUR, Third Prize – 5 000 EUR and 3 distinctions of 1000 EUR each.
