The Tokyo MINATO CITY International Music Competition & Workshop

To discover and foster young musicians
who will go on to the world stage and to create opportunities
for people to experience the richness of music,
we hold an annual competition in Minato City, Tokyo,
featuring one section each year for violin, cello, and piano.
Piano section 2026
Competition period: Thursday, September 24, 2026 – Thursday, October 1, 2026
Application deadline: Monday, April 27, 2026 *Upload performance data for Preselection
■ Eligibility
The Competition is open to people of all nationalities who were born between 1996 and 2010. *All applicants must be aged at least 16 and have not yet reached the age of 31 on the first day of the competition (i.e., on 24 September 2026). Those who are to participate in the competition may not be rejected on any ideological, linguistic, political, religious, or racial grounds.
