Blue Danube International Opera Conducting Masterclass 2026/II

Blue Danube Musikimpresario/Vienna has partnered with European opera theaters in Masterclasses and Competitions since 2002, developing generations of opera conductors, many of whom have gone on to professional careers. Two works from the standard repertoire, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor and Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia, will be rehearsed & performed in Italian, in fully-staged & costumed productions. Eight conductors work with State Opera Stara Zagora's orchestra, choir, vocal soloists, and pianists, coached by Maestri Vladimir Boshnakov and Anthony Armore. Each conductor will conduct 1/4 of one of the operas in performance and have podium time with: orchestra and choir alone; cast & piano; stage rehearsals; & Sitzproben (soloists and choir onstage with orchestra in the pit), as well a dress rehearsal and performance.
