Blue Danube International Opera Conducting Masterclass 2024 (I)

Two places available for participant conductors for Blue Danube Vienna's Opera Conducting Masterclass with Maestro Niels Muus working with 8 conductors on Verdi's Il trovatore and Bizet's Les pecheurs de perles (the Pearl Fishers) with State Opera Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. Both operas fully-staged and costumed with public performances on 23 (Trovatore) and 29 May (Les pecheurs de perles). Conductors have 60 minutes of rehearsal with orchestra alone, 45 minutes with full choir (with pianist); 60 minutes in an Italiana (Sitzprobe) with soloists, orchestra and choir; and conduct their performance assignments on one of two operas in a cast rehearsal (with piano); stage rehearsal (with piano) and a General (dress) rehearsal (tutti). Regular coaching with Maestro Muus. All rehearsals and performances videotaped with multiple cameras and edited to taste. Vocal and conductor scores for the Bizet are available.
