Principal Double Bass (Replacement)

The audition is held in three rounds.

For the video round, we expect:

• A CV with an overview of your creative activities;
• A video recording featuring a freely chosen piece and excerpts from the 3rd movement of L. van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 (these can be recorded as separate segments).

Candidates invited to the 2nd round will be asked to perform:

• J. K. Vanhal Double Bass Concerto in D major or C. D. von Dittersdorf Double Bass Concerto No. 2 in E major, including the cadenza.

In the 3rd round, candidates will be required to perform:

• S. Koussevitzky Double Bass Concerto Op. 3 in F-sharp minor, movements 1 and 2, or G. Bottesini Concerto No. 2 in B minor, movements 1 and 2;
• Orchestral excerpts.

The material for rounds 1 and 2 must be performed in orchestral tuning.
