Principal Horn (Orchestra Musician 1)

Performs musical and music-theatrical works, delivering interpretations of the highest artistic quality.
Performs the assigned part at rehearsals, concerts and recording sessions, both domestically and abroad, in accordance with the institution’s work plan and programme.
Carries out all necessary preparations for rehearsals and concerts.
Maintains and further develops performance fitness and instrumental technique during effective working hours and through individual practice.
Undertakes a variety of artistic activities aimed at promoting the development of the section and the orchestra as a whole.
Coordinates and supervises the work of the section and is responsible for its performance.
Monitors the artistic quality and commitment of section members.
Maintains direct communication within the orchestra with the Concertmaster and interacts with other orchestra members and the Conductor.
Works individually with section members or with the section as a whole.
As required, performs related instrumental parts, in accordance with their qualifications and in consultation with the Concertmaster and the Orchestra Secretary.
Recommends that a section member undergo an assessment audition.
Proposes programmes for chamber music concerts.
Participates in the work of the Audition Committee.
May serve as a member of the institution’s artistic body.
