Associate Professor II of Viola

Scope and Subject Area of the Position
The position is vacant for a fixed-term period of 4 years and constitutes 20 percent of a full-time position. It is available from August 1, 2026.

The subject area of the position is viola.

The responsibilities include teaching and supervising students as well as administrative tasks related to the academic activities within the department. The Norwegian Academy of Music expects the successful candidate to actively contribute to strengthening artistic and academic collaboration among colleagues.

Teaching and Supervision
The teaching responsibilities include teaching and supervising viola students at the bachelor's and master's degree levels, in accordance with the current curricula. The teaching will be conducted as both individual and group instruction. Systematic planning, execution, and evaluation of teaching are expected. The position may also include responsibilities such as teaching younger students and other tasks for which the appointee is qualified.

The successful candidate is expected to take the initiative in planning and leading seminars and courses within their field of expertise, in collaboration with other teachers in the subject area. The candidate will also participate in the preparation and execution of the Academy's entrance exams and final examinations.
