Classic Cello International Competition

The Classic Cello International Competition will land in London’s iconic Royal College of Music from the 26th of March to the 6th of April 2026, with 40 of the finest young cellists from around the globe set to compete for over €130,000 in prizes and a two-year loan of a professional-grade cello provided by Florian Leonhard.
Presided over by Artistic Director Alexander Chaushian, Classic Cello 2026 is open to talented performers of all nationalities aged 40 and under, and offers a unique platform to launch international careers, with finalists being judged by a distinguished 11-member jury.
With a repertoire including works by Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Shostakovich, and Composer-in-Residence Alexey Shor, this competition is set to become one of the must-watch events in the classical music world.
