Sobrio Festival International Competition for young Composers

The competition was created in collaboration with Vincent Vogel, timpanist with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and the Sobrio Festival. Its aim is to encourage young composers to create works dedicated to unusual instrumental combinations.
The 2026 competition is dedicated to a composition for timpani and violin (DUO).
The competition is open to composers of all nationalities who are under 40 years of age on April 25, 2026.
Candidates must submit their compositions (PDF format + MP3 audio file, preferably via WeTransfer) to info@sobriofestival.com by April 25, 2026.
Compositions must be original, unpublished, and never submitted or awarded in other competitions.
Duration of the composition: 10-15 minutes.
The jury will be chaired by Vincent Vogel. The jury's decision is final and cannot be appealed.
The winning composition will receive a prize of CHF 3,000.
