ICA Art of Rehearsal Part 1 with Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble

Art of Rehearsal Part 1 offers conductors focused time to explore the craft of rehearsal within the International Conducting Academy season. The course complements ICA’s core work on gesture and non-verbal communication by placing preparation, rehearsal strategy and professional communication at the centre of the learning process.
Designed and led by ICA Director Jonathan Mann, the course offers a coherent and progressive experience, with all rehearsal sessions led by him. Christopher Clark contributes specialist workshops on presentation, focus and communication. Participants work closely with the Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble and take part in a recording project with Queen’s University Belfast composition students, supported by producer Paul McCusker.
All sessions are professionally recorded and include video analysis and group reflection. Repertoire includes works by Piers Hellawell, Thea Musgrave and Yu Song, alongside student compositions.
