Blue Danube Opera Conducting Masterclass 2026 (II)

Probably the best training in opera conducting in the world! Join us for rehearsals and performances of Two Towering Bel Canto Masterpieces, one a tragedy, the other a comedy -- Gaetano Donizetti's, Lucia di Lammermoor; and Gioachino Rossini's, Il barbiere di Siviglia. Work intensively for 9 days
with a professional company's orchestra, chorus, vocal soloists, pianists and stage directors in one of Eastern Europe's best houses -- State Opera Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. Conductors have the opportunity to acquire a high quality video/ audio of their conducting in rehearsals and performances which can be tailor-made to their specifications and are essential for applying for positions, programs, competitions, etc. The two conducting coaches guide but do not interfere with conductors work while on the podium. Each of the 8 conductors accepted will rehearse and conduct segments of BOTH operas in public performances. Our masterclass welcomes experienced AND conductors new to opera conducting.
