Essential 20th-Century Large Orchestral Repertoire for Conductors with the Czech/Slovak Symphony Orchestra in beautiful and historic Bratislava, Slovakia. Works to be performed -- Hindemith: Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber; Rachmaninoff: The Isle of the Dead; Janacek: Suite from The Cunning Little Vixen; Shostakovich: Symphony No. 1; Mahler: Symphony No. 1; Mieczyslaw Weinberg: Suite for Orchestra; Respighi: Pines of Rome; Britten: Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes; Ravel: Daphnis et Chloe Suite No. 2. Limited to 12 conductors working with Maestro Niels Muus (Vienna) with two public concerts. Conductors use their podium time on the works they wish and conduct in one of the two concerts while rehearsing but not performing in the other. 20 minutes of podium time each day, with two rehearsals daily, each 2 hours and 20 minutes in duration. Interested conductors are asked to send links to recent examples of their conducting and their CVs as soon as possible.
