Trainee NKK NXT

Are you a vocalist (m/f /x) with a passion for performance? Have you had classical vocal training or do you have a solid classical singing technique? Do you want to do more than just sing on stage? Then NKK NXT 25/26 is your chance!

What is NKK NXT?
NKK NXT is the traineeship of the Nederlands Kamerkoor. Eight young, talented singers are given the chance to develop into versatile ensemble singers and makers. NKK NXT is the bridge between training and the professional field - a path in which experimentation, artistic growth and collaboration are central.

What will you do?
As a trainee, you will receive:
- A part-time position from mid-January to mid-June 2026.
- Coaching from the singers and staff of the Nederlands Kamerkoor.
- Workshops from leading experts in ensemble singing, improvisation, stage presence, choreography and artistic development.
- The opportunity to create your own performance with your fellow trainees.

In addition, you'll contribute to a new co-production by the Nederlands Kamerkoor: An Elegy – a poetic musical performance by composer/director Mees Vervuurt exploring the relationship between humanity and nature. The show premieres at the O. Festival and will also feature at Oerol.

Practical Information
- Mid-January to mid-June 2026 (average of 2 days per week). Kick-off day on November 14, 2025.
- Nederlands Kamerkoor is covered by the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Music Ensembles (CAO Muziekensembles). The traineeship is classified under scale 4, step 0 until the premiere of An Elegy. The tour following the premiere is classified under scale M, step 0. Travel expenses reimbursed according to CAO (if residing in the Netherlands).
