Principal Viola (Temporary)

The Vratsa Symphony Orchestra announces an opening for the position of Principal Viola.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated musician to join our viola section as a temporary leader (the time of the contract will be agreed with the administration).

Some of the requirements are: advanced studies in music (bachelor or master in a conservatory or equivalent education), sight-reading and ensemble performance skills, the ability to adapt to different styles and repertoire (classical, romantic, contemporary).

Proven orchestral and/or chamber music experience is required, and applicants must provide supporting evidence. Additional relevant experience will also be taken into consideration.

The audition is divided into three rounds:

1st Round. VIDEO SUBMISSION - Solo piece + excerpts (Choose 3 or more of the following excerpts):
- Mozart: Symphony No. 35 ,4th movement – mm. 134-181
- Brahms: Symphony No. 2, 1st movement – mm. 114–136
- Shostakovich: Symphony No. 5, 1st movement – No. 15–17).
- Brahms: Variations on a Theme by Haydn – Variation V
- Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, 3rd movement – Beginning to m. 166
- Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Scherzo – mm. 17–93
- Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé, Suite No. 2 – mm. 158–166

2nd Round. ONLINE INTERVIEW

Final Round. TRIAL PERIOD
